At this festival, Hanoi and the Embassy of Japan in Vietnam show about 30 trees and 10,000 cherry blossoms, ornamental bonsai, some flower species of Vietnam and Hanoi.

In addition to displaying cherry blossoms, cultural exchanges with Japan, there are Japanese cultural spaces, tea ceremony, Go, Shogi, traditional Kendama games; introducing Japanese and Vietnamese cuisine with about 20 stalls at Hanoi Children's Palace; Yosakoi dance performances of Japan with about 15 teams (from 15-100 each team) at Dinh Tien Hoang, Ly Thai To.

Besides, the festival also takes place the traditional art program in Hanoi and supporting activities showcasing a number of traditional art forms such as Ca Tru, Cham singing, dancing ...; donate and plant some cherry blossoms in Hanoi; exchange of investment promotion and tourism between Hanoi and Japan; exchanging managerial experiences in the field of health and education between Japan and the specialized management and some of Hanoi's existing institutions; donate books, equipment, support directly some activities under the model, new technology of Japan.

Organizing the Japanese cultural exchange activities on the occasion of the 45th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Japan, contributing to the propagation, introduction and promotion of images, cultural beauty, the country and people. With the people of Hanoi, the two countries are also exchanging experience and cooperation in the fields of culture, tourism and economy between Hanoi and Japan.
